The brief was to create a courtyard garden with a neo-classical inspiration for a renovated grade II listed barn and a new extension. The challenge was to create a journey through the garden with a sense of excitement, different zones and planting identities. The client did not want a lawn and so the design played with water to cool the newly paved space. The space was divided into a water garden with a long reflective pool and terrace for entertaining, long borders and terraces on two levels by the old barn. The client is a knowledgeable gardener and we were able to design a planting scheme, which had a wide variety of plants. The sculptures belong to the client from their previous garden.
