A new build house and garden for a couple in the creative industries. The site is sloping and has water running beneath the ground with a small stream located in the neighbouring property. We created a formal, calm and simple entrance courtyard using local Cotswold stone and gravel. The view then opens up to reveal the garden – clean curving lines in sympathy with the sloping land, so that the new house sits naturally in its surroundings – important in a conservation area in a beautiful village setting. Many new trees were included and planting to suit the site, plus spaces for outdoor eating and to admire the view, including room for the grandchildren to play and explore.
